Sardar Jalaloghlu: "Tereqqi party may be expelled from the "five"

09 July 2008 [17:29] - TODAY.AZ
"The Tereqqi party is free to act as it wills, including to support candidacy of the working president", said chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloghlu.
He noted that the Tereqqi party voiced intention to support I.Aliyev's candidacy during the session of the five (the said coalition includes leaders of five parties).

"At that time no one in the association supported this decision, Presently our association may recognizer the issue of further cooperation with the said party within the coalition.

Moreover, Chingiz Damiroghlu's accusations of opposition leaders of their failure to unite, initially, can seem objective. However, if we consider the situation from a different side, it turns out that event strong parties in the world can not agree on cooperation.

Today, most people voice intention to support Ilham Aliyev's candidacy and there is nothing unusual in it. Currently most countries of the world use tactics of supporting the ruling class. But they should understand that problems in Azerbaijan are not settled depending on whom Sardar or Chingiz will support. This primarily requires a single political course", noted he.

Sardar Jalaloghlu also added that if Tereqqi party chairman officially register its decision, the party will be expelled from the coalition.

"Now the party should join the consultative center and act in cooperation with this structure", said Jalaloghlu.

It should be noted that the coalition of five includes the Azerbaijan National Independence Party, Musavat party, Azerbaijan Democratic Party, Tereqqi party and public forum "For Azerbaijan".
