Tereqqi party to support Ilham Aliyev's candidacy during elections

"Ata bloc and Tereqqi party have allowed me to define the form of our participation in the elections. As opposition is inconsistent in its activity, particularly, some of them have chosen boycott and others state that they should review wthis issue, while the rest do not know, whether they will take part in the elecitons at all, we have decided to support the most worthy candidate for presidency - Ilham Aliyev.

I have been waiting for long for s ingle opinion on this issue to be formed, however, conflicts between the opposition leaders have not yet disappeared.

In turn, the administration of the party and the bloc have supported my decision. We are planning to form the election campaign team for supporting the candidate.

Normal political situation should be created in the country and opposition and powers should not regard each others as enemies. It is necessary for them to cooperate and we intend to take actions in this very direction. Elections should be democratic so that they would not be clashes between opposition and authorities", noted he,

It should be noted that Ata bloc includes 21 parties-Tereqqi party, Azerbaijan Rebirth and Progress party, Vahdat party, Qorqud party, State Democracy Party, National Democracy Party, Free Azerbaijan Party and others, which have not passed state registration yet.
