Assistant of NATO Secretary General arrives in Baku

Assistant of NATO Secretary General on public diplomacy Jean-Francois Bureau has arrived in Azerbaijan today.
His visit aims at participating in the conference "Azerbaijan's integration with the Euroatlantic space and democratic elections" to be held in Baku on June 24-25, said President of Eurasian Lawyers Association Nadir Adilov, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

He said the event is arranged in close cooperation of the association with the Turkish embassy to Azerbaijan.

The main purpose of the conference is to study the role of democratic elections in the process of Azerbaijan's integration into the Euroatlantic speace and discuss development of relations between NATO and our country.

Financial support to the event is provided by NATO department of public policy and Turkish embassy to Azerbaijan, that allocated EUR 5,000 each.

The conference will be attended by over 100 representatives. Assistant of NATO Secretary General Jean Francois Bureau, US and Turkish ambassadors to Azerbaijan Ann Derse and Hulusi Kilich, officials of Azerbaijani government and experts will speak at the opening.

Secretary of the Central Election Commission Natik Mamedov, officials of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev, Ministry of Justice Faik Qurbanov and others will speak on the second day of the conference.
