Reporters without Borders call on President of Azerbaijan to ensure journalist Agil Halil's safety

International organization Reporters without borders has sent an appeal to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev regarding the previously beaten and knifed Azadlyg newspaper correspondent Agil Halil, Day.Az reports with reference to Azadlyg radio.

The appeal contains a request to I.Aliyev to put an end to persecution of the journalist and ensure his personal security.

President of international organization Reporters without Borders Robert Menard has sent similar appeals to embassies of the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and leadership of the OSCE Baku office.

The appeal says that after Halil disclosed the fact of illegal land sale and purchase, a black PR campaign was initiated against them, and also features events happening to him.
