Qudrat Hasanquliyev: "During discussion of the draft law "On Freedom of Assembly" I will speak against its adoption"

The due announcement was made by MP Qudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Single Popular Front Party.

He said that the draft law, which will soon be adopted in the parliament of Azerbaijan, does not comply with the present day realities. The question of mass arrangements has not been clarified yet.

During its discussion, I will speak against the adoption of this draft law.

Naturally, it is impossible to reject that the draft law has amendments and alterations, yet on the whole it does not comply with the democratic requirements", he noted.

Touching upon the conduction of any protests or meetings by the party, Hasanquliyev noted that this will depend on the situation in the country.

"Currently, political structures are not allowed to hold actions of protest. Yet our party, represented in the Center of Democratic Elections, intends to arrange the protest on May 12, dedicated to ceasefire. The city administration has not yet responded to our appeal", he concluded.
