Ramiz Mehtiyev: "Announcements of some international organizations addressed to Azerbaijan are made on basis of certain orders"

The due announcement was made by head of Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehtiyev, commenting on the announcements of some international organizations regarding the arrest of journalists and attacks on freedom of speech.

He considers that Azerbaijan does not lag behind the European countries as to the attitude to mass media.

"The OSCE representative from Great Britain, visiting Azerbaijan recently, announced that they also have imprisoned reporters.

Three reporters, currently arrested in Azerbaijan have not been imprisoned for their professional activity. They committed definite crimes and were arrested on basis of court decisions. Their issues can be settled only by the decision of the court", said Mehtiyev.
