02 May 2008 [16:14] - TODAY.AZ
The Musavat opposition party, functioning in Azerbaijan, has annulled the meeting, planned to be held on May 4.
Arif Hajili, head of the party's Central office said that the meeting was postponed not by their will but because they were not created conditions for its holding.

"A regular session of the party divan will be held next week and we plan to define the next date of meeting. In this connection we intend to appeal to the Baku city administration. If we get a negative response we will appeal to the court against it", Hajili said.

It should be reminded that the party planned to hold a meeting with a demand to put an end to artificial rise in price, hold reforms in Azerbaijan in the sphere of democratic elections and provide independence of press. The Baku city administration allowed to the party to hold a meeting in Bibieybat, but the party leadership did not agree to it.
