EU chairman: "Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers will meet soon"

The meeting of representatives of the European Union and OSCE in Luxembourg focused on issues of Kosovo, South Caucasus, Transdniestria and Afghanistan.
According to Xinhua agency, Dmitri Rupel, EU chairman and Slovenian Foreign Minister, announced that OSCE should continue efforts and cooperate with the EU police, EULEX law enforcement mission, as well as special representatives of the European Union in Kosovo. He also stressed OSCE role in defense of the interests of the Serbian population of Kosovo.

Along with Kosovo, the meeting participants discussed issues of the South Caucasus, Transdniestria and Afghanistan. Dmitri Rupel noted that the European Union and OSCE should work for restoration of peace and stability in these regions.

"The European Union supports efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group for resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, aimed at the peaceful and just settlement of the problem", Rupel noted.

The EU chairman also voiced hope that the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers will be held soon.
