Iranian Foreign Ministry demands from Azerbaijan to release Russian cargo for Bushehr NPP

The due announcement was made by spokesman for Iranian Foreign Ministry Mohammed Ali Hosseini.

"Russian side in line with its commitments makes efforts to settle this issue as soon as possible", the Iranian diplomat noted, according to ITAR-YASS.

"We have demanded from the Azerbaijani embassy to Iran to dispatch the cargo to Iran in the shortest possible time", he added.

M.A.Hosseini noted that the said cargo for the Bushehr NPP is transported to Iran in line with international norms and there can not be any hindrances for its delivery.

Representatives of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan announced that cargo is detained due to the absence of a permission for the transported equipment. Azerbaijan's deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov noted that Russia should respond to Azerbaijan through the Foreign Ministry or the embassy and also said that the problem does not carry any political motives.
