Youth organizations of opposition parties prohibited to hold meeting at Azadlyg square

23 April 2008 [14:08] - TODAY.AZ
The Baku executive powers has responded to the appeal of youth organizations of the opposition parties.
Chairman of the Musavat party's youth organization Tural Abbasly said that in its response the city administration did not grant their request of holding a meeting at the Azadlyg square, saying that this area is designed for conduction of wide scale arrangements.

"The youth organizations of the opposition parties protest against the said refusal as it is unjust that concerts of various singers are held there and we can not hold a meeting dated to genocide of turks and genocide of Azerbaijanis?

The Azadlyg square has no special status. We intend to appeal to court instances in this connection. Yet, we have not yet passed a decision to change the date of this meeting", Abbasly said.
