Azerbaijan's Economic Development Minister invited to annual session of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The press service for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development told Day.Az that during the meeting Heydar Babayev noted that our country attaches special importance to cooperation with international financial structures, including the EBRD.

He noted that a number of projects have been implemented in Azerbaijan under the EBRD support. The EBRD took part in creation of Unibank, Azerdemiryolbank as well as the Azerbaijan Microfinancing Bank. Moreiverm the organization allocated credit lines to local private banks.  

According to the Minister, the EBRD supports such projects in Azerbaijan, as "reconstruction of Hajiqabil-Kurdemir highway", "Rehabilitation of thermal and electric stations", "Renewal and Modernization of Locomotive Park of the State Railway Administration and others.

In turn, Sager voiced satisfaction with cooperation with Azerbaijan. He noted that issues of entrepreneurship development and improvement of business-climate in Azerbaijan.

The meeting participants also discussed EBRD ties with Azerbaijan and agenda of the annual session of the bank to be held in Kiev on May 18-19 of this year. Sager invited Babayev to this event.
