Khalaf Khalafov: "Certain changes may occur in the issues on the legal status of the Caspian Sea in 2008"

Day.Az reports with reference to ANS TV channel that Khalaf Khalafov considers that certain changes may occur in the issues on the legal status of the Caspian Sea in 2008.

The deputy minister noted that certain achievements are expected regarding the settlement of the issues, remaining on the agenda.

Khalafov said in case an exact principle of floor division  and the principle of use of sea surface are adopted, the adoption of the convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea will be possible soon.

He voiced hope for attainment of such an agreement and stressed existence of a large basis for it.

Moreover, Khalafov noted that definite changes and great understanding is observed between the sides, which causes optimism of the Azerbaijani side.
