18 April 2008 [14:29] - TODAY.AZ
Armenia states readiness to continue the current process of negotiations for the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh problem.
The due announcement was made by newly appointed Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan.

"But just a readiness is not enough. The search of solution also requires readiness of Azerbaijan", said the Armenian Foreign Minister, I would like to hope that we will display responsibility with my Azerbaijani counterpart and stop communicating via press and announcements and give up the practice of teaching each other give advice in public", said Nalbandyan.

The Minister said it is impossible to call for compromise and state that the solution will be in favor of only one of the parties, speak about constructiveness and at the same time make militaristic statements and prepare for war in open.

"What is the purpose? I do not think that there is any other country which parades the significant growth in its military budget", said the Foreign Minister of Armenia.

Nalbandyan noted that "the main issue in the negotiation process is the issue of Nagorno Karabakh and it should be settled in the result of peaceful talks via plebiscite, which will allow the population of Nagorno Karabakh to express their will freely, which is a subject of the current stage of talks".

"I think, it is possible to settle the conflict only if political will is demonstrated", said Armenian Foreign Minister.
