PACE rapporteur on South Caucasus cultural heritage to visit Azerbaijan

CE Secretary General Terry Davis said the issue of the visit was discussed with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"In particular, the sides discussed researches in connection with the announcements regarding the destruction of the Armenian memorials in Nakhchivan", said Davis.

He noted he managed to reach an agreement on the said issue and the visit of PACE special mission will be held in the near future. "The visit was not held earlier due to the elections in Armenia", said Davis.

Speaking about possible terms of the visit before the initiation of elections in Azerbaijan in October of this year, he said that the visit will be held in the near future.
