Terry Devis: "I would be glad to hear about the dismissal of the OSCE Minsk Group, as it will mean the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict"

The due announcement was made by CoE Secretary General Terry Davis.

The CoE Secretary General said he is anxious that the OSCE Minsk Group work too long on the conflict resolution. At the same time, he stressed the obstinacy of the activity of the said format of the OSCE Minsk Group for the resolution of the conflict. The CoE Secretary General said the work style of the group differs because it does not impose any decision, just assists in it.

By results of the recent meetings and talks with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the President of Azerbaijan, it seems to me that the sides are nearing the conclusion of an agreement and I do hope that such an agreement will be reached in the near future. This agreement will meet interests of the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan and especially, the people of Nagorno Karabakh" said Davis.
