Aynur Guliyeva: "The hunger strike of some journalists proved ineffectiveness of the activity of Azerbaijan's Council for Press"

The hunger strike of some journalists and its stoppage after the meeting with the OSCE representative on freedom of mass media Miklos Haraszti once more proved ineffectiveness of the activity of Azerbaijan's Council for Press.

The due announcement was made by parliamentarian Aynur Guliyev at today's session of Milli Medjlis.

She noted that the Council for Press should have interfered with the action more actively.

"I do not understand whose side is this Council on. We, as a parliament, should ask this structure about the reasons of its not interfering with such issues and not playing a role of a bridge between mass media and authorities", said she.
