International conference "Principal bases of conflicts resolution in GUAM states" starts in Baku

Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov who opened the conference noted that the intensive development of the region is unfortunately deteriorated by the conflicts in its territory, accompanied by separatism and ethnic cleansing.

"Conflicts in the GUAM states hinder the complete use of the rich potential of these countries. The militaristic regimes of Nagorno Karabakh, Tkhinvali, Abkhazia and Transdniestria are units of terrorism", said the Minister.

He added that the GUAM states attach special important to the UN joint efforts and noted that double standards of the world society may often lead to the danger of resumption of military actions in this area.

"We consider that the respect to international law is the only way of the conflicts resolution", said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister.
