The Court of Grave Crimes, presided by judge Alekper Guliyev, held a court hearing on the case of Rovshan Novruzoghlu, chief of the Center of Combat with International Terrorism and Corruption, said defender of the political scientist Osman Kazimov.
He said he asked the court to pass a verdict of not guilty.
The trial is scheduled for April 15.
Thus, at the last session the prosecutor demanded to sentence the political scientist to 6 years of imprisonment.
It should be noted that R.Novruzoghlu is charged under articles 320.1 (falsification of identification or any other official document, empowering or releasing from duties), 320.2 (deliberate use of falsified documents), 310 (misappropriation of powers) of the Criminal Code on basis of the appeal of the Baku city administration, submitted to Prosecutor General's office.
The Nasimi district court chose a prevention measure in a form of a two day arrest. This term was twice protracted for a month. The political scientist is kept in the investigation ward of the Ministry of National Security.
