Siyavush Novruzov says opposition to gain no more than 1% of votes during presidential elections in Azerbaijan

He explained the proposal by saying that the election campaign is the longest in Azerbaijan.

"The process of election campaign takes 90 days even in such country as Poland which is bigger than Azerbaijan. The campaign lasts for 70 days in Georgia and Armenia, while in Azerbaijan it takes 120 days which is 4 months.

Thus, the country holds three election process. The population spends a year for this process of elections. I think the issue should be considered during the discussions of amendments to the Electoral Code", he noted.

Asked whether opposition will gain significant support during presidential elections, he said that in current conditions, it will not gain more than 1 % of votes in Azerbaijan.
