The annual session of the coordination council of Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora groups has ended in Berlin.
The due information was provided by a source from the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis, residing abroad.
Appeals to the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey Ilham Aliyev and Abdulla Gul, a final memorandum, as well as a declaration on the 90th anniversary of genocide of Azerbaijanis, committed by Armenians in March of 1918 were adopted by results of the session.
Thus, the participants of the annual session noted in the appeals that the joint projects, joint arrangements held by diaspora organizations are bright samples of the implementation of the idea of unification of the Turkic world.
"Will and zeal, demonstrated by our countries while creating the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic states, as well as the secretariat of high level sessions, prove that our peoples are determined in their striving for unification. Acceleration of the world globalization process, mutual integration of peoples, have turned into the urgent requirement and in this sense the closing of our people bases on this realities", the appeal to the heads of Azerbaijani and Turkish states says.
The memorandum of the session welcomes the initiative of creating the inter-parliamentary Assembly of Azerbaijan and Turkey, secretariat of the summits of the Turkic states, decision to create a single TV channel of Turkic people and support Ilham Aliyev's statement made at the 11th session of Turkic states and communities, welcomes the demand of Turkish Prime Minister Rejep Tayip Erdoghan, voiced at the Munich conference on security about the immediate withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.
Moreover, the memorandum states that the session participants have made a decision to create a work group from among the representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora organizations in the United States to coordinate participation of Azerbaijani and Turkic communities in the elections of the US President.
For this purpose, the work group will be proposed to form a strategy and tactics of joint activity of the diaspora groups within April. A decision regarding the support of a candidacy for the US President will be made on basis of the said document.
