Two members of the United States House of Representatives have joined the Congressional Azerbaijan Caucus, increasing the number of the Group to a total of 36.
Congresswoman from Virginia Thelma Drake (member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure) and congressmen from Texas Pete Sessions (member of the Committee on Rules and Budget) on February 29 applied to co-chairmen of the Group Bill Shuster and Solomon Ortiz for the purpose of joining the Group.
Azerbaijan’s electorate is very active in both US states that the two congresspersons represent.
Naimi Amiraliyev, one of voters of Thelma Drake, US Navy officer, met with her in December to call on her to join the Azerbaijan Caucus.
