Eldar Ismaylov: "Kosovo precedent may create serious problems for Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, as well as Russia"

The due announcement was made by Eldar Ismaylov, chairman of the NGO "For civil society", Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

"I do not understand those who refutes the very possibility of the appearance of the Kosovo precedent, while the international law itself accepts existence and appearance of new precedents. Moreover, the legislation of such a famous democratic countries, as Great Britain, is fully composed of precedents", he noted.

Ismaylov also blamed the appearance of the Kosovo precedent, regarding it as a negative fact in the history of international law.

"The threat of the Kosovo precedent is that it may create serious problems for Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, as well as Russia with its numerous autonomous formations", Ismaylov said.

The chairman fully supports official Baku's refusal to recognize Kosovo's independence and intention of Azerbaijani powers to withdraw their peacekeeping contingent from Kosovo.

"We should not interfere with the process of further development of situation around recognition of Kosovo independence. Further, the situation around Kosovo may worsen any time", he added.
