Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan: "Events on Khojaly tragedy were not allowed in Iran due to cleaning works in the mosque"

"The decisive moment in the report of the head of the International Nuclear Energy Agency Mohamed Al-Baradei is that there are no doubtful or unsettled issues in the nuclear activity of Iran and the current situation is normal".

The due announcement was made by Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nasir Khamidi Zare at a press conference yesterday.

The ambassador said commenting on Iran's nuclear program that is is implemented for peaceful aims, in particular, nuclear technologies will be applied in the spheres of health, energy, agrarian and other fields.

Answering reporters' questions, the Iranian diplomat did not exclude possible talks between Iran and the United States on the situation in Iraq.

Commenting on the disallowance of an event on the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide with participation of Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran Abbasali Gasanov in the Nur Mosque in Tebriz, he said if officials explained by cleaning works in the mosque, there is no need to look for other causes.

Touching upon Iran's plans to hold exploration in the disputable section of the Caspian Sea, the diplomat noted that the work on the legal status of the sea continues following the Tehran summit of Caspian littoral states and each state will use the part, it accounts for.

Answering the question about possible simplification of a visa regime between Iran and Azerbaijan, Zare reminded that Tehran made this proposal 12 years ago: "This will be settled when Azerbaijan considers it necessary".

The Iranian diplomat reminded that visas for Azerbaijani pilgrims heading for Meshed and going for pilgrimage via Iran are free of charge.
