Two documents on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland were signed during the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Warsaw.

President Ilham Ilham Aliyev met with Polish Senate Marshall Pogdan Borisevich.

Day.Az reports with reference to the press service for the president that the meeting participants stressed the successful development of relations between the Parliaments of Azerbaijan and Poland, close positions of the two countries in the international issues. They said the inter-parliamentary relations contribute to the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland.

It was noted during the meeting that mutual visits on the level of the Presidents play an important role in development of relations between the two countries, and issues of cooperation in economic and energy spheres were discussed.

It was noted that the cooperation on the level of parliaments promotes expansion of ties with European parliamentary structures, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other organizations.

The meeting participants expressed confidence about further expansion of bilateral ties.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed in the book of Honored guests of the Polish Senate.

Two documents on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland were signed during the visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Poland.

"The protocol on introduction of amendments to the agreement on civil air transportations between the governments of Azerbaijan and Poland, signed in Warsaw on August 26 of 1997, were signed by general director of AZAL Jahangir Askerov, representing Azerbaijan and President of the office of civil aviation Gjegosj Krushinski, representing Poland.

"The agreement on cooperation between the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting company and Poland Television was signed by chairman of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Arif Alishanov representing Azerbaijan and head of the Television of Poland Andjey Urbanskiy.

Ilham Aliyev also held a meeting with country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The meeting participants noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Poland are developing in the economic, energy and other spheres. Good opportunites for cooperation in non-energy sector were also noted. The sides also spoke of the necessity of their effective use in the future.

President Ilham Aliyev spoke of the processes of economic development, ongoing in Azerbaijan.

It was announced that the two countries have mutual economic interests. They discussed issues of raising investments, noting that it is one of the main issues, facing the two countries in the future.

The sides stressed existence of a large base for cooperation in the humanitarian field as well. It was noted that the peoples of Azerbaijan and Poland are historically bound.

The importance of the current visit of Azerbaijani President to Poland was noted. The sides stressed that the visit is useful, in particular, as to the development of economic ties between the two countries and implementation of definite projects.

Poland and Azerbaijan Presidents held an expanded meeting with participation of government members of the two countries in Warsaw on Tuesday.

The due information has been provided by Novosti-Azerbaijan with reference to Azerbaijani embassy to Poland.

During the meeting, the sides stressed successful development of relations between the two countries in various spheres of state activity, in particular, in economic, political and energy spheres. The sides also discussed issues of regional cooperation, in the framework of GUAM and issues of international policy.

The sides noted that they see each other as strategic partners.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev noted that in the issue of Azerbaijan's integration to the European structures Poland is Azerbaijan's close friend. President of Poland Lekh Kachinskiy, in turn, declared that he recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and considers our country Poland's strategic partner in the South Caucasus.

Several intergovernmental agreements were signed between Azerbaijan and Poland by results of the meeting.

During the meeting the presidents of the two countries stressed successful relations in the political, economic, humanitarian spheres and others.

The importance of I.Aliyev's visit to Poland, prospects of cooperation were stressed during the meeting and the sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and regional issues.

Presidents signed a joint declaration by results of the meeting.

It should be reminded that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is currently paying an official visit to Poland.
