Turkic-speaking countries sign a protocol of intention to establish Parliamentary Assembly

The first meeting of the Interparliamentary Council of Turkish-Speaking Countries took place in Turkey.
Deputy Parliament Speakers of four Turkic-speaking countries signed a protocol of intention to establish a "Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries".

The document was signed by First vice-speaker of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan parliament) Ziyafat Asgarov, Deputy Speaker of Turkish parliament Nevzat Pakdil, Vice Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Mukhambet Kopeyev and Vice Speaker of Kyrgyzstan Parliament Kubanychbek Isabekov.

Nevzat Pakdil said the aim of the meeting was to discuss prospects for strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the Turkic-speaking states, as well as to set preparatory issues for a meeting of interparliamentary council of those countries on the level of chairmen of parliaments.
