A group of doctors were not allowed to examine imprisoned former minister of economic development of Azerbaijan Farhad Aliyev.
According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, MP Jamil Gasanli, chairman of the committee for protection of ex-minister's rights, announced that Farhad Aliyev feels bad and his state can be assessed as grave.
"He is so bad that he was not able to bear a tense heart test. This gives grounds to state that he is too bad", Gasanli said.
Despite the announcements of the Ministry of Justice that Aliyev can be examined by other doctors, the deputy said "it was not so and conditions were not created for it"
"We have offered that a group of doctors led by professor Adil Geybulla court have examined him. The group was ready to make its own conclusion, after its own examination and familiarization with the results of the previous groups", the deputy announced. Yet, he said "this was not allowed and even doctors of the state medical service were not allowed to examine him".
The former minister was arrested in October of 2005 in the threshold of parliamentary elections being accused of the attempt of coup d'etat. Aliyev has been sentenced for 10 years with property confiscation, without a right to occupy leading positions within 5 years after serving the term. The ex-minister willbe kept in the standard regime penal colony.
