GUAM Secretary General visiting Baku

According to the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Khazar Ibragim, the plan of measures, which was proposed to be implemented by Azerbaijan in period of its chairmanship in the organization will be discussed in Baku with participation of Valery Chechelashvili and Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov.

The meeting will focus on cooperation om the settlement of long-drawn conflicts on the GUAM space: cooperation on the law-enforcement sector and security, interaction in the framework of international organizations, cooperation with other countries and international organizations, interaction in economic spgere and assistance to cooperation of GUAM business circles, cooperation in the sphere of transport, communication and informational technologies and development of GUAM transport corridors.

The meeting participants will also discuss cooperation in boosting energy security, including the use of alternative energy sources; cooperation in prevention of emergencies, assistance to cooperation in the framework of the GUAM Parliamentary Assemblyl; cooperation in humanitarian and tourism spheres; completion of the institutionalization of GUAM; jubilee of GUAM and informational work.

Chechelashvili is also to meet with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamedyarov.
