On the night of December 16, Turkish air forces bombed positions of Kurdish militants in the northern regions of Iraq.
The militants were attacked in the Zap, Ayasin and Khakurk regions beginning from 01:00 a.m. until 04:15 a.m. The air attack engaged 24 F-16 planes, dislocated on a base in the Diyarbakir province on the southeast of the country.
Heavy artillery was also used during the attacks.
Nearly 10 villages were attacked, which caused death to a woman and injuries to two people, according to Iraqi powers.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Workers' Party Kurdistan in France Seyvan Barzani reported that in case of the deployment of Turkish armed forces in Northern Iraq, kurds will initiate hostilities in Azerbaijan.
