Mubariz Ahmedoglu: "I can not understand the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, who promises the release of imprisoned reporters to their relatives"

He noted that the decision on this issue can only be made by the President of Azerbaijan.

"What will the US Ambassador do, if the President of Azerbaijan does not issue resolution on pardoning of the detained reporters? The Azerbaijani President have never passed such a resolution upon the demand from the West. I think if the western countries really want the release of reporters, they should not make abrupt statements and demand immediate measures from the Azerbaijani government", the political scientist considers.

At the same time, he noted that Azerbaijan had openly ignored the opinion of the west and each time when western countries made statements regarding detained reporters in Azerbaijan, a new reporter was imprisoned.

"It can be a sign for Armenians that if our country decides to initiate war,  it will not listen to the Western countries. Armenians currenly hope that the western countries, making large investmnets in Azerbaijan will prevent its government from initiating hostilies  in order to release its occupied lands", M.Ahmedoglu said.
