US cities mark Azerbaijan's Republic day

California's Long Beach and Orange County cities marked Azerbaijan's Day this year. The mayor of Long Beach city Bob Foster signed special declaration on it and stated that Azerbaijan established secular state as a first Muslim country in the world.

He also underlined the contributions of Azerbaijan Consul of America in the expansion of international understanding and cultural dialogue in Long Beach city and California State.

Observers Council of Los-Angels sent a congratulation letter to Azerbaijani Consulate General on May 28 – Republic Day.

Houston also marked May 28-Azerbaijan Republic day.

America-Azerbaijan Society which is operating in the east of US held special meeting on Azerbaijan's Republic day.

The first National Security Minister of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic Nagi Sheykzamanli's grandchild Tomris Azeri addressing the meeting reminded his grandfather's contributions. Tomris said that this date was also marked in America as commemorative day of youths who became martyrs. APA
