Ilham Aliyev attends Independence Declaration monument inauguration

After the inauguration, the head of sate was informed about the construction of the monument. It has been made of granite and white marble, APA reports.

The white marble upper part of the monument has Azerbaijani anthem. The lower granite part was carved with names of the authors of the "Declaration of Independence" both in Cyrillic and Latin alphabets. The monument was erected in the territory between Azerbaijan National Sciences Academy's (ANAS) Manuscript Institute and Economic University in Sabayil district.

It symbolizes history. The Declaration of Independence was signed at the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, former Isamailiyya building, in 1918, May 28.
