Azeri envoy meets Canadian MP

Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Ottawa Fakhraddin Qurbanov met with Canadian MP, Chair of the Parliament's Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development Kevin Sorenson.

Ambassador informed the Canadian parliamentarian about his country's history. Fakhraddin Qurbanov said Azerbaijan places particular emphasis on its relationships with Canada.

Ambassador said opening of Canadian Embassy in Baku will give the impetus to further enhancement of the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Azerbaijani envoy informed the Canadian MP about his country's investment climate and large-scaled projects it is participating in.

Fakhraddin Qurbanov stressed Azerbaijan is a world leader in GDP's growth rate, adding the country is an initiator of regional energy and transport projects.

On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, the Ambassador said Armenia occupied twenty percent of his country's territory forcing over million Azerbaijanis to flee their homelands. AzerTAg
