Araz Azimov: "Concrete decision should be made before Presidents' meeting"

24 May 2007 [16:14] - TODAY.AZ
A concrete decision should be made before Azerbaijan and Armenia presidents meet as the presidents have discussion on concrete issues, Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said.

Commenting on OSCE Minsk Group Russian co-chair Yuri Merzlyakov's statement Azimov said no decision has been made on presidents' meeting.

"We will discuss the process with Yuri Merzlyakov and Bernard Fassier. After discussions it will be decided whether to hold a presidential meeting. Currently, there is only one issue on the table which is to set basic principles for an accord on the settlement of this conflict. If the basic principles are agreed, all the issues in the agreement should be clearly marked because the agreement is signed to be implemented. We are at the first phase now which leads to agreement of basic principles," he told the APA.
