Azerbaijan, EU to negotiate on WTO accession in Brussels

Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) will hold negotiations on the country's WTO accession efforts in late May, Brussels.

A source inn the government of Azerbaijan told APA that Azerbaijan is the only one in bilateral negotiations with the EU members on the issue.

Azerbaijan will also start bilateral talks with Turkey in the nearest future.

The Azerbaijan's Working Party with the World Trade Organization will have its fifth meeting at the headquarters of the WTO, Geneva in June.

Depending on the schedule, the meeting may also be put off until autumn. The meeting will focus on liberalization of market segments of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan, which was granted observer status in 1997, have held bilateral talks with Georgia, Moldova and Oman on the process and got OK.
