Mammadyarov met with Turkmenistan's President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov in Ashgabat. Various issues between the two countries were debated at the meeting. Special attention was paid to economic and commercial relations, including transport and energy issues. The Minister presented Azerbaijani President's letter to Turkmenistan's President and conveyed his best regards.
Berdimuhammedov conveying his best regards to Ilham Aliyev, expressed his confidence in Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan bilateral relations will elevate to much higher level.
Mammadyarov gave several proposals on the expansion of bilateral relations. He also proposed the establishment of intergovernmental commission. Berdimuhammedov supporting this proposal stressed the expansion of economic cooperation will give an impetus to other fields.
Mammadyarov meeting with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov discussed bilateral, regional and cooperation in the Caspian Sea. Commenting on Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict informed his counterparts on the present condition of the negotiations.
Minister said that the conflict has no alternative solution in the framework of international law norms and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Ministers agreed on continuing interministerial talks.
Azerbaijani FM invited Meredov to Azerbaijan. Turkmen Minister accepting the invitation said that the date of his visit will be specified through diplomatic channels soon.
