Lavrov: Politicizing Iran's nuclear issue is a destructive act

After meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov here on Monday, Lavrov told reporters, "Issues related to Iran's nuclear program should be settled through negotiations."

He added, "Any effort to isolate Iran and take advantage of Iran's nuclear issue is unacceptable."

Mammadyarov, for his part, called his talk with Lavrov concerning bilateral ties and different regional and international issues "useful and important."

He said, "Azerbaijan and Russia have similar stances in political issues and their economic relations are developing, too."

Russian foreign minister at the head of a high ranking delegation arrived in Baku on Monday for a 2-day official visit. IRNA
