Azerbaijani government and Venice Commission to start negotiations

The second round of the negotiations between Azerbaijani government and Venice Commission of Council of Europe regarding amendments to election legislation will be held in September this year, President's Office socio-political department chief Ali Hasanov told.

Hasanov saying that there is no need for a long debate on the Electoral Code did not rule out making some amendments to the electoral legislation by the end of the year.

"No principal amendment is expected," he said.

Commenting on the proposals on forming election commissions of professionals, Mr.Hasanov underlined this issue is being discussed, APA reports.
