Procedure for Nakhchivan-Iran visa simplified

30 April 2007 [22:22] - TODAY.AZ
Procedure for Nakhchivan-Iran visa has been simplified, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic State Customs Committee told.

They said that an official meeting will be organized with regard to it and following this, visa-free travel will be applied.

Iranian consulate general to Nakhchivan neither confirmed nor refuted the report on meeting. The consulate said though visa is required at present, the procedure has been simplified and beginning from Saturday the process is being implemented without paying any customs.

Nakhchivan residents could travel to Iran without paying duties once in three months. The citizens passing the border had to pay EUR35 to get visa, APA reports.

Nakhchivan AR representation in Baku told that Nakhchivan residents have the right to travel 12 times with one visa.

They can stay in Iran for 20 days after passing the border. Though these rules were envisaged in the memorandum signed last year, agreement has been ratified recently.
