Baku hosts European Youth Forum's meeting

European Youth Forum (EYF) started its meeting in Azerbaijan for the first time among the other Muslim countries.

The two-day event brought together nearly 150 representatives of 75 international organizations from 44 countries. The congratulation letter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was addressed to the participants.

President of EYF Betina Shvarsmayer stated that EYF will participate in the implementation of a special project between Azerbaijan and European countries.

Chairman of National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) Fuad Muradov stressed the significance of such event held in Baku. He said that several measures were taken on the social protection of youth in the country.

Azerbaijan's Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov said that nearly 170 children and youth organizations have been registered in Azerbaijan by now.

he minister speaking of the Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan said that more than one million civilians have became internally displaced and most of them are children and youths.

The representatives of several youth organizations of Denmark and Norway rebutted Rahimov for touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. They recommended him to speak of the problems of youths.

Rahimov said that he informed the event attendees of Azerbaijan's truths. The minister also asked the representatives of those youth organizations to be polite.

The Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation and European Youth Forum concluded a memorandum of cooperation at the meeting. APA
