Miklos Haraszti to discuss problems on freedom of expression with Azeri officials

"We hope certain amendment will be made to Azerbaijani legislation that will provide considering suits on professional activity of journalists on the basis of Civil Code. According to European standards, problems related to journalists are not solved in accordance with the Criminal Code," said OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Miklos Haraszti.

Mr.Haraszti told the APA he will try to discuss the problems on the freedom of media with the country officials.

"Other problems concerning media are discussed in today's conference, but I would like to hold a debate on the situation of media in Azerbaijan during he conference," OSCE representative underscored.
