Turkmenistan's Ambassador to US: "Ashgabat is interested in close relations with Azerbaijan"

Mered Marazov, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to the US stated that carbohydrate resources of his country can be transported to the world markets through Azerbaijan as well, the Ambassador said at the fifth conference "South Western and Central Asia" organized at the University of Monta.

He said that Azerbaijan became the leader of the South Caucasus, and Turkmenistan is interested in close relations with Azerbaijan, APA reports.

It is the first time Orazov attends this conference after Turkmenistan's President Saparmurad Niyazov's death. Debates on "Azerbaijan: Kuwait of the Caspian" were held under the leadership of famous journalist Thomas Golts.

Azerbaijani consul general to Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov said that Azerbaijan has all the potential to transport oil and gas resources of the region to the world markets.

He noted that Azerbaijan is strategically important in terms of cargo transportation between East and West and showed the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway project as an example.

The consul general also spoke about the main priorities of Azerbaijan's current political course.

Taleh Ziyadov, deputy chief of US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce spoke about regional cooperation and business potential of our country.

Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijani Consulate general to Los Angeles organized a photo gallery "Welcome, Azerbaijan" by young photographer Agdash Bagirzadeh. Following this, president of Mugham Society Jeffrey Verbakh gave a concert.
