Criminal case on ex-economic development minister to be sent to court

The criminal case on the former Economic Development Minister Farhad Aliyev and his brother Rafig Aliyev, former president of Azpetrol will be sent to the Graves Crime Court.

The charge case against defendants is ratified by General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov, law–enforcement sources told APA.

Farhad Aliyev faces charges of misappropriation and squandering, post forgery, bribery and his brother Rafig Aliyev, not paying the taxes and smuggling.

Rafig Aliyev and Farhad Aliyev also face charges of attempted coup and organizing mass actions. The investigation on the case of Farhad and Rafig Aliyev will finish on April 28. The case also cover another 19 men involved in the corruption.

New charges including not paying taxes, attempt in organization of mass actions and forcefully seizing the power were added on the criminal case of the former president of Azpetrol Group of companies Rafig Aliyev on September 28. Rafig Aliyev was accused for smuggling and arrested.

Rafig Aliyev was sent for another 6 months term on October 2 by Nasimi District court on the application by republic Court.
