"Our position on Caspian's status is close to those of Russia's and Kazakhstan's. Our position with that of the southern neighbor is also becoming closer. The Caspian states do not protest against the problem of the status conceptually. We have strengthened normative grounds with Russia and Kazakhstan on distribution of the Caspian Sea. We are negotiating with Iran and Turkmenistan. The documents signed with the Caspian states have international basis and are legitimate. We are sure that the negotiations will help to transfer the potential to many-sided format," Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov told journalists, APA reports.
The latest two meetings of the working group were held in Tehran in December, 2006 and February, 2007.
