Formation of strong Diaspora will contribute to Azerbaijan-Israel relations

The meeting brought together Mountain Jews from 16 cities of Israel. Some aspects of the Association's activity were discussed at the gathering. The organizer of the event, chief of "Tikvateinu" Society Nekhemiya Shirin Mikhaeli in his speech praised Azerbaijan for respecting the Jewish people.

"The gathering of Jews from Azerbaijan shows that we love this country and want to do much for Azerbaijan," he stressed.

Israeli Knesset member Iosif Shagal considered it important to set up Israeli Association of Jews from Azerbaijan, APA reports.

"Since all conditions are ensured for Jewish community living in Azerbaijan, analogical condition should be ensured for Azerbaijanis coming to Israel."

This will help preserve traditions of those people. The bringing close of the two countries and the formation of strong Diaspora structure will give chance to Azerbaijan and Israel to have strong business-like co-operation and cultural relations in the level of state.
