Farhad and Rafig Aliyevs' imprisonment term can be prolonged

The term of imprisonment of former Economic Development Minister Farhad Aliyev and his brother, former president of Azpetrol Rafig Aliyev can be prolonged.

General Prosecutor's Office public affairs department chief Eldar Efendiyev told the APA that according to the amendments to the Criminal Procedural Code if some cases appear, that is if there are witnesses abroad, the term of arrest can be prolonged.

I can not say whether it has connection with ex-speaker Rasul Guliyev, but such cases are possible, he said.

Investigation of the criminal case against Farhad and Rafig Aliyevs will be over on April 28.
