Baku to host GUAM national coordinators' meeting

The fourth meeting of National Coordinators Council of GUAM - Organization for Democracy and Economic Development ended in Kyiv.

The next meeting of national coordinators will be held in Baku on May 4-5, councilor of Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine Sabuhi Temirov told the APA.

Regarding Kyiv summit as the preparation for the summit to be held in Baku in June the diplomat said that the fourth meeting ended by signing the final protocol. The drafts of the documents to be reviewed and approved in Baku summit, steps to be taken for the adoption of the resolution on GUAM 'frozen conflicts', which was included as the 27th item into the session of the UN General Assembly were discussed at the meeting.

Temirov said that 5 GUAM has nine working groups on economic, legal and other spheres and the last was set up on emergency situations. The working groups will have meetings at the level of experts, deputy ministers and ministers. The issues on the agenda will be discussed at these meetings and submitted to the Foreign Ministry. The issues approved there will be included in the agenda.

Chairmanship will transfer from Ukraine to Azerbaijan in Baku summit. Baku declaration and schedule of GUAM for 2007-2008 will be adopted at the summit.
