The agenda of the meeting includes the examination of the decisions taken on CIS Special Envoys Meeting on humanitarian cooperation passed on 23d of December, 2006, in Erevan, but also organizational questions of Council activities (about chairman, work regalement project, Council work for 2007 - 2008), organization of Inter-State Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS-countries, its cooperation with UNESCO and other international organizations.
Declaration on CIS-countries Humanitarian Cooperation was adopted on May 8, 2005, by Russian Federation initiative on informal summit of CIS-countries leaders in Moscow.
To develop this declaration 11 leaders of CIS-countries signed an agreement on Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS-countries on Kazan summit in August 2005. Article 10 of this agreement foresees the CIS-countries Humanitarian cooperation council establishment.
Agreement on Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS-countries, adopted on CIS-countries leaders' council meeting on 28th of November, 2006, in Minsk, was signed by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Also at the meeting of CIS governments' chairmen council on 25th of May, 2006, held in Dushanbe an agreement of Inter-State Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS-countries was signed.
