Ali Insanov's trial continues by testimonies of witnesses

Trial on case of former Health Minister Ali Insanov and ten more defendants accused of embezzlement, abuse of power and bribery continued in the second part of the day at Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes.

The sitting is presided over by Judge Faig Gasimov, APA reports.

Witness Alihuseyn Talibov gave testimony at the court and noted he appealed to health ministry to get license to open drug-store.

"I had got license from the ministry to open drug-store. I appealed to the ministry for the second time in January, 2005 again for license. I met with chief of pharmacology and medical equipment Akif Maharramov on this purpose. I gave $1500 to get license," he said.

Commenting on the testimony of the witness, Maharramov denied what he said.
Director of Sumgayit medical school#2 Rafael Eyvazov said that they admitted students that did not have examinations. He said that they have admitted the students due to the letter of the ministry.

The trial will be continued on March 16.
