The presidents exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations in different spheres and stressed the necessity of expanding economic cooperation.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Tajikistan's President Emomoli Rahmonov signed Contract on friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.
The governments of the two countries also signed agreements on visa free travel, promotion and protection of investments, trade and economic cooperation, cooperation in culture and art, cooperation and mutual assistance in customs, cooperation in certification and accreditation, cooperation on international automobile relations, cooperation in railway transport, and cooperation in air transport.
The presidents held a press conference after the signing ceremony.
Tajikistan's President touched upon the history of relations between the two countries and spoke about the role of Azerbaijanis in the development of Tajikistan.
Rahmonov underlined that they are interested in the development of Azerbaijan-Tajikistan relations and support official Baku's just position in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that he is satisfied with the visit and invited Tajikistan's President for an official visit to Azerbaijan.
Rahmonov accepted the invitation and said that he will visit Azerbaijan at the end of this year.

President Ilham Aliyev is expected to have one-on-one meting with Tajikistan's Prime Minister Akil Akilov. He will later meet with speaker of the Upper House of Tajikistan parliament Mahammadsaid Ubaydullayev and end his official visit after that. APA
