Lithuanian President: "Azerbaijan is becoming more important for Lithuania and European Union"

"Kestutis Kudzmanas is to be Lithuania's first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan. The first Lithuanian ambassador to Azerbaijan bears a great responsibility," Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus said.

He also said that Azerbaijan has become more important state. "We attach particular importance to the relations with Azerbaijan as it is becoming more important for Lithuania and the European Union as well."

While visiting the US last month Valdas Adamkus called American entrepreneurs to invest in the Caspian region, particularly in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan stressing the importance of free market for the security of energy policy. APA
